Ari Kahn, Ph.D. - Chairman & CEO

Ari Kahn is the Chairman and CEO of Great Land Holdings, Orchid Bay's parent company. Ari joined Great Land Holdings after founding FatWire Software and building it into a leading multinational software company with operations in 13 countries. Ari’s experience building and managing multinational corporations enables him to create an organization at Great Land Holdings where communication across multiple locations is excellent and developments .

Ari has managed real estate investments since 2000 with properties in New York, Florida, and Belize. As an experienced investor and leader in start-up companies, Ari evaluates growth opportunities relative to risk and guides corporate investment to maximize return. Prior to FatWire, Ari was a research scientist at Hughes Research Labs. Ari holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Chicago.

Philip Hahn - Chief Vision Officer

Philip Hahn is the co-founder & Chief Vision Officer for Great Land Holdings. Phil identified the original opportunities in Belize and was responsible for leading the design of Great Land Holding’s first two projects, Orchid Bay and Cahal Pech. Phil is responsible for architecture, strategic direction and sales.

Phil has been designing homes in Florida and throughout the Southeastern U.S. for over twenty years and is certified by the Institute of Classical Architecture. Combining his love for architecture, planning and education, Phil has served on government advisory councils as well as several association and college boards.

After several years of working with land planners and developers, Phil expanded his design business to include building and land development in Florida. In 2003, foreseeing a decline in the Florida real estate market, Phil further expanded off-shore into Belize. Phil’s more than twenty years in the Florida real estate industry provides Great Land Holdings with an experienced eye for opportunity and direction. Phil has a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University.

Dave Drummond - Chief Operating Officer

David Drummond is the co-founder & Chief Operating Officer for Great Land Holdings. He is responsible for managing architecture/design processes, site infrastructure, and building construction at Orchid Bay.

Prior to founding Great Land Holdings, David led the operations for real estate developments as President of Nautilus Associates. David managed the development of St. Vincent Point, a premier gulf-front community in Florida. He also led the acquisition and development team for Thunderhorse Ranch in Arizona as well as other real estate projects.

David spent 18 years in the high-tech software service industry focused on customer service operations completing that portion of his career at FatWire Software as the Senior Vice President of Professional Services & Support. While at FatWire, his projects included JP Morgan Chase, Best Buy and Bayer product launches.

Prior to FatWire, David was the VP of Professional Services at divine software inc. and the VP of Customer Services at Eprise where he was a key member of the executive team that took Eprise public in 2000. David Drummond has a Bachelor of Science at Hope College.

Hugh O'Brien - Vice President for Business Development

Hugh O'Brien is Vice President for Business Development for Orchid Bay's parent company Great Land Holdings. Hugh is co-founder of Green Trees and Cayo River Valley Properties - two of Orchid Bay’s sister developments.

Hugh has been associated with Great Land Holdings since 2005 and joined the GLH management team in February 2008.

Prior to joining GLH, Hugh served for three years as the Chief Executive Officer in the Ministry of National Development in Belize. In that position, he chaired or had responsibility for committees and boards governing: national planning, national statistics, investment, gaming and casino operations, development concessions, export processing and commercial free zones, international financial institutions and development cooperation. Hugh has worked with the Government of Belize for over 20 years, serving as a senior manager in a variety of government departments and ministries.

Hugh has a Masters Degree in Agronomy from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. His experiences in personnel management and business, as well as Belize government, make Hugh an ideal addition to the team.

Alvin Holm, AIA - Community Architect

Alvin Holm, AIA is a pre-eminent classical architect thoroughly grounded in the Modernist Movement. Alvin Holm developed the community plan for Orchid Bay. Alvin has extensive experience in city planning and home homes design. He was a project designer at Vincent Kling Partnership, Philadelphia for ten years while teaching the Bauhaus foundation program at the Philadelphia College of Art and studio courses at Drexel University.

In 1976, he opened an office in Philadelphia and involved himself intensively in restoration work and historical architecture. After several years of studies and successful experiences in restoration, Mr. Holm redirected his practice totally to design in the traditional manner.

Alvin received his degree in History of Art at the Yale University in 1958. From 1959-60 he attended graduate studies in city planning and architecture at Yale University. In 1962 he was awarded a Master of Architecture degree with major honors by the University of Pennsylvania.
